The
Eddie Rivera
Sportsmanship Award is awarded
annually to the player who continually exhibits outstanding good
character and pursues the guiding principles of our league.
Each year managers may nominate one of their players.
The recipients are then recognized by the entire league.
This coveted award is in memory of one of our finest players and a true gentleman, Eddie Rivera. He played on the Tigers and passed away while playing the game he loved. He exhibited superior sportsmanship both on and off the field and is dearly missed. |

Gone but not forgotten...
Joe Turgeon was a player for the
Nationals in the Quabbin Valley Over 30 Baseball League for two years
and truly enjoyed playing the game he loved. His unfortunate
and untimely passing was a great loss to our league, as well as to his
family and friends.
He was an avid Red Sox fan and served his country proudly for 6 years as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He will truly be missed as a brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, and teammate. His brother Bob currently plays for the Nationals in the QVOTBL.
